Day 7 - Last Day

I was happy that there was another lesson but not happy that it was the last day on the project as I had a lot of work to do. Today I processed the Photos and Film. This took all day and not all the photos where good. A lot of photos where not a good as I had hoped. The main problem was that I couldn't get the lighting correct. I took a photo of my Sister and her boyfriend and this was very underexposed. In some cases, the lighting was behind them (back lit) and I didn't expose for the subject and got very dark images. It was hard taking Photos as I struggled to get the lighting right but it was fun. Also, with digital cameras, the lighting is checked automatically. The exposure time is worked out by the Camera and the Camera turns on the Flash if required. An all round good day. I think I will practice more with the Film Camera to try and understand why things didn't work out as I had hoped.

Day 6

Sadly, I was ill today so no work was done on this project.

Day 5

Last week I was ill so I am trying to catch up with the work. What I did was sketch my 3 ideas into my sketch book. I decided to go with my third idea - Believe in the circle of life, which holds many different meanings to different people This should be fun.

I will need to have.....

• A sheet of Cardboard.


• Photos of a baby Children, Teens, Young person, Old person and a grave stone.


• photo card.


• Foam and Glue.


• Plastic Human Skull.

They are needed so that I can make a stand from foam, something for the photos to be stuck onto eg, Cardboard. I also need photos of the family. I can probably get the Photo card from Tesco's. I hope that I will get the work on my sculpture done next lesson.

28/09/10 day 3

Today at CRAM I was thinking of 3 ideas. 1 of my ideas was to make a family tree with pictures of a family hanging off a tree. This is related to the word believe as you in believe in your Family. My 2nd idea is to have a skull. Half the skull will be covered with pictures of the human face. The meaning of this is life and death and is related to the belief as in believe in an after life. I have been thinking about my 3rd idea. I think I have a lot of work to do still, which will be done next lesson or hopefully at least I will try to get it done . The day was hard work but good all round.

day 2 21/09/10

Today I was starting the work 1 day behind as I had been off School ill. Today I was working on my research report. This was easy but it is not finished it is the start. What I miss was the Camera work like taking photos and developing the film and photos. Then we were given a job or brief. What we have to do is make a sculpture of anything but it must have 1 or more photos. I think this will be fun but a challenge as making what I am thinking of will be hard. My plan is to tack photos of a heads of people and stick them on a human skull to show what's behind the face. The problem is where am I going to find a skull. The good thing is that the work is individual work so no group work at all. Todays work was hard and tiring but an OK day.
